Approaching Stormby annigComment: Originally posted by mad_brewer: I love that white against the dark sky. Composition is good - nice use of the thirds. Even though the weather is threatening here, it makes me long for the simple life with that farm. |
ha! that life is not so simple! he & the kids are up at 4am everyday to milk the cows, and he is working still when we head to bed..it looks nice but it is a long day & hard life, 7 days a week, 12 months a year; and not very productive $$ wise either, relative to the amount of time put in, the smaller farmers anyway...the larger mechanized ones do better |

1 breakfast-at-90mm.jpgby datcatComment: the egg looks so clean and crisp against the bg which actually works very nicely! the DOF is great b/c it keeps the egg in sharp while falling off to a nice boke on the well chosen bg. that is a bit overworded for me, but the java hasnt kicked in yet...
short form: "nicely done, the egg and the bg work well together & that DOF fits perfectly"
geesh!

My Preciousby bergiekatComment: what a darling! I like the soft lighting off the top of her head...and her eyes look great. one eye is yellowish did you notice this? is this her eyes themselves or a result of lighting?
laffing at what Judy said below, b/c my cats always talk and I talk back in their meowww meowww style & we seem to get along famously, completely with no clue of what the heck we're talking about! |

Day 3 @ 50mmby AgaricusComment: I like the image, B&W always brings out that rainy day feel...it's unusual to see the fixture so sharp and the bulb itself oof; I like the burnished feel in the fixtures. |

Day 4 @ 50mmby AgaricusComment: shooting after one has a glass (or 2) of an awesome Rothschild is NOT the way to get the proper alignment ...hehehehe
or perhaps it is....is that a half bottle?? it seems out of proportion against the size of the glass..
fwiw, the lighting makes this seem almost vignetted to the right and falls off the label a bit too soon

My Head Nearly Explodedby Art RoflmaoComment: great tutorial link and oh yeah, like I have the patience for that!. (NOT) see below on how to stop a hummer's wings... :)
nice SP Ken and the lighting seems great to me; btw all the math & numbers you & JD kicked around gave me a wopping headache, so now I have to stay on the couch all day, drink more coffee and look at pretty pictures to make it go away..
