Day 3 @ 50mm..

It is a really rainy day in the Pacific Northwest today and somehow, it always is good lighting for BW. I actually like the un-level lines in this as well as the contrasts and highlights. Dodged and burned more than I normally do, but somehow thought it added a bit to this.

I like the darkness. I think I see a sort of blue cast to this \"b&w\".

A B&W without D&B is like shortcake without cool whip ;)

I like the focus on the lantern caging, it makes a nice pop place. If the focus were on the bulb, I would think it would feel a bit more like the whole image were out of whack.

I like the image, B&W always brings out that rainy day feel...it's unusual to see the fixture so sharp and the bulb itself oof; I like the burnished feel in the fixtures.

I do like the B&W treatment here, but the bulb itself seems a bit soft.

Some very nice tones...I find the sheens on some of the different surfaces quite interesting as well.

Nice job, Mike. THe bulb is a little soft which seems odd, but works here.

What I really like is how the glass bulb is soft looking. Usually a bulb is made to look sharp, but I really like it this way as it works well with the black enamel finish if the fixture.
