great little story to this one! Short version is this little guy flew into my house, then was trying desperately to get out a group of windows way up high that don't open& I basically have no access to. I climbed on a bar stool with the telescoping feather duster and shoo'd him away from the glass. Poor thing was so exhausted by then, just hanging on a door frame. I scooped him up and carried him downstairs & outside, grabbed the cam and clicked away with my left hand. He stayed there a few minutes more, then finally flew away.
What a moment!

I love a moment with a "happiness ending" !
This is such an unusual and beautiful moment, and well captured for one handed shooting.

Ohmygosh!!! I have goosebumps. I don't know if you can tell by my photos of late - but I am a hummingbird FREAK! And its so ironic, just today, my hubby and me were sitting outside enjoying the flowers and hummingbirds and we were talking about how mindblowingly cool it would be to either see a hummingbird's nest, or to see one still -- where you could really examine it and connect with its dainty elegant beauty.

And. . .as if it weren't enough that: voila. . .here is a photo of just that -- BUT -- there are so MANY different species of hummingbirds but THIS one is the prettiest, most colorful species of all.

Oh Anni! What a moment! I wanna cry. THANK YOU for sharing it! :)

How cool is that? Did you use Chloroform?

Hardly worth the effort I'm sure, but they do taste like chicken...
Oh and don't forget the fresh Pico de Gallo - mmmmmmm.

What a cool story! The only creatures that ever get in my house are tiny lizards and bugs. Both of which I usually find dried up and dead under the furniture.
