Good. I think a closer crop, just right of the pole, with less building, would be more effective. Still, 8.

Are you telling us that you shot this out of the time window? Or that your clock is wrong? I'm sorry, I don't see the message or connection.

Overexposed on the left, and center of attention on the left is a little blurred to me.

A little too dark, and a little out of focus. It looks like your flash is not strong enough for what you wanted to light.
Composition of photo is way too busy for me. Lots of small items that I can't really see.

Good photo. Technicaly well done. Perhaps a little more space (wall) to the right would have changed the mood some. 8

I like this. I still see the smoking embers. Would a little closer crop with less green and more lower right side change message? I think so. Still, 8.

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) - Pretty good. Iâd like to see the partial bodies on the right cropped out. The problem with that, you lose the Kodak sign. Canât win. I like the partial face in the center, although a couple of folks did not. Itâs good that he is looking at her. I like the pose of the girl, kneeling on the counter. Definite youth, paying attention.
(2) BACKGROUND â Pretty good, but two âblown outâ areas are distracting â left of the girlâs arm, and right of her head. Looks like bad reflections. Overall background is also a little too bright, but probably hard to change in b&w.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL â Focus and DOF look quite good.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL â I assume you took this in color and converted to B&W. The conversion looks good to me. Good resulting textures. No recommended changes.
(5) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO â When I first saw the photo and the title, I had trouble envisioning the story that went with it. A good picture, but âso whatâ; why would this be on a front page or a magazine cover? On the other hand, it would go well with a story on a âvarietyâ page that covered a young girl who took photos for a school paper.

Looks over exposed. Background way too hazy. Subject strikes me as so-so.
