'Light on the stitches'by suemackComment: This is a nice snap shot of someone busy at work. You've gotten the obvious light sources in also. Sadly, the background and foreground are extremely cluttered. Sometimes this can be to good effect in a shot like this as it shows the person in their environment. In this case it's just not working to well. Another choice might have been to get in a close as possible to her hands as they work at their task. This can tell a universal story about a craftsperson and elevate the shot from a nice snap shot to beautiful photograph. You might even be able to crop this photo from the original. The light falling on the edge of her fingers and the bit of lace looks quite nice. |

Candle Litby DianaBComment: This is a nice start to a good composition. Consider a differenet background next time (terry cloth isn't the best choice for a background unless you are going for a bathroom feel ---which perhaps you are?). I'm not sure if you intended to focus on the reflection instead of the candle but I think focusing on both might have been more effective. As it is, the candle is quite blurred but you have lots of texture in the terry cloth. A small tripod might be a good purchase. You can buy a little table top model for lighter weight digital cameras for about $10. |

DaVinci Syrupsby hedinnComment: The light coming through the flavored syrups makes for nice color in this composition. You may want to consider a tripod (you can get a very small one for about $10) next time. The image suffers quite a bit from motion blur. |

untiteldby EladComment: I think this is a cute picture of this cat. I love cats and am not one of those folks that says, "Not another cat shot!" I say, "Bring 'em on." This one is a bit cluttered however. I know it is hard to get shots of your pets in a perfect surrounding because they go where they want (especially cats). If you could blur the background a bit with an image editing program that would be very helpful. The basket is also distracting but a blurred background might fix this. The cat has a great, 'cat' expression. |

Hit from all sidesby MAKComment: The placement of the watch against this background makes for a confusing composition. It's a rather noisy image and there are quite a few hotspots (the edge of the watch face and the top edge of the frame). The bead thing is rather interesting as an abstract and I encourage you to work on the lighting some more and see what you come up with. |

Stormy Nightshadeby sbeaumontComment: This looks like it has some fine detail. It's too bad you made it so small as it is really hard to tell. I like the warmth you've captured in the light coming from the window but the subject matter doesn't hold much interest for me. I like the red umbrella against the dark sky. You have some potential there. |

Over and under.by moviemanComment: The fly crawling over the eye on the computer monitor is an interesting subject. The largest half of the frame is a bit cluttered by the rest of the monitor which is a bit blurry. It took me a second to figure out what this was. I imagine the monitor was one of your obvious sources of light? |
