Last gasp by MilesWComment: Hi Alex,
I hadn't seen that image before, but I can see why you would be reminded of it.
It looks spectacular - but might have been a bit more difficult to replicate under basic editing ;-)

Last gasp by MilesWComment: Thanks Giles
I certainly had all those old movie/theatre illusion methods in my mind. A great source of ideas when trying to do things the old fashioned way (i.e. without Photoshop!) |

The Land Before Timeby robaComment: This remains a stunning shot, beautifully processed and with a great title and 80th place doesn't do it credit. Glad to see Posthumous coming through with the red ribbon - it's well deserved.

Oh to soar!by smurfguyComment: Intriguing use of motion blur and I'm interested in how the front skate has stayed sharp. Classic rule-of-thirds composition and a strong blue-to-white contrast (leggings to rink and sleeves to background) make this a graphically strong image. You certainly convey the desire for speed and flight, and although the link to the challenge may not be strong enough for many this remains an excellent image that you should be proud of. |

Call Of The Wildby JeniYComment: I like the muted skin tones (post processing?) to give punch to the painted mask and the cropping to give the impression of the subject pushing out of the frame to freedom.
I fear for your score in a closely specified challenge where it could easily be regarded as DNMC, but it remains an accomplished photo regardless of your final score and kudos to you for being brave enough to submit it. |

Silver Pheasantby skewsmeComment: Came back to this one to bump it up because I really like the composition. Technically flawless, beautiful control of DOF and graphic sweeps of colour in the background lift this one into the top tier amongst some very strong competition. |

You'll Have to Shareby DistantColoursComment: Brilliant action capture and sympathetic PP to lift the birds into the foreground. I like the hopeful spectator bottom right too! |
