Very good candid image, though given the person walking nearest to the squatting man is looking directly at him perhaps the title could have been changed. Still, I give points for pictures rather than titles and this is a very good one

Excellent in terms of meeting the challenge but the lower left hand corner especially seems almost hazy which is quite distracting. Possibly a tighter crop might have helped

Damn I should have recognised the outstanding B&W tones and contrasts from the chellenge that we did!!!! Very few photographers I know get such richness

In a challenge that was awash with churches this really was the stand out image. Many congrats on the high place finish

Well I have to be honest and sat when I flew over the hoover dam and took my picture I was at least thinking it would be the best dam shot in the free study and then you went and trumped me with this one

I think we could call it an honourable draw in terms of best pun used in the title though

Gee Jack you really took a bit of a mauling on this one. However what I would say is that if you look at the 8s 9s and 10's (FOUR!!!!) that you got it echos what I said during my in competition post. Whilst it did not do it for me there are people who have loved this image to score it very well which shows the experiment worked because it is better (IMO) to have got a range of scores which include the very highest ones than simply 4s 5s and 6s

Well I will be honest and say I thought that this image whilst good was not great (please understand I thought it was good though --- I gave it 6)

However the poigniancy of the story is incredible and knowing what I do now about the image really adds to it

I guess true faith is recognising that such things occur is down to failings in man rather than God

Cant believe that this one did not score and finish higher even in a free study challenge

The main splash is wonderful and the focus works wonderfully with the bokeh. the railing is a great addition as well as it draws you into and then through the wave splash

B&W was also the perfect choice as it means you have no distractions to the moment of impact that you have captured so well
