Survey Pin at the Edge of the Ocean... Why?by macleodnComment: Ahhhh, being married to a US Geological Surveyor employee for a long time I can even answer your question.
They place survey pins near most waterways so that they can accurately assess highs and lows during floods and draughts.
Nice idea, I thought it would have placed higher, IMO. |
