Btw ,the 70-200L _is_ a great lens for doing close-up work... Just because it doesn't say macro, doesn't mean it can't be used (I have an entire book on macro photography that only mentions macro lenses for about 4 pages) I've taken some nice macro of flowers with it.

Desert Bloomsby TerryGeeComment: CC: great, simply great. You've isolated the subject really well - enough to tell that it is a succulent / cactus and yet removed any wasted areas around the shot. The spikes are sharp and in focus - which compliments their sharp nature well - a shallow DoF wouldn't work with this at all. The flower details are great, and you've captured it with good flat lighting. |
