Some shallow DOF might be helpful here, but this is a good photo. I think it was a good idea to turn it into black and white!

Awesome! The shallow DOF really makes this shot a great one. The only thing I would change is the centered composition. Also, the spider seems a little bit over-exposed and some of it's detial is washed out. But hey, I'm being critical here. This is really good! :)

Here's my two cents. :)
I like the sepia effect too, however the picture feels a little bit too yellow or something... I've found that desaturating it a tad usually helps when I have that problem. Also the composition feels a little busy. I don't know if that's just the angle or what. Maybe the ground needs a little cropping off...
but other than that, this is a really cool image, with a very interesting subject! I like it a lot - keep shooting.
