Day8.jpgby MaggyeComment: This is a classic flower photo. Nice tones, sharp in all the right spots, blurred in all the right spots. Really pretty. |

Banksia-with-Beeby sfaliceComment: Pretty, and I like the textures. Wish for a little more shadow detail in the area just to the left of and slightly below the bee. Or maybe paint a highlight on the bee's rear end to separate it a little more distinctly from the background? |

All aloneby BudyaComment: This is lovely. The tones in the light petals show just the right amount of detail, and pairing the petals with the spent bud on the right (at least I'm guessing that's what it is) makes a really good composition. |

Canna leafby BudyaComment: Really nice. Colors and exposure are right on. Like the sharp foreground leaf against the blurred background leaf. Just right DOF. |

Bees and Lavenderby inamoComment: Just as on your thistle shot, I think you've got some nice photos here, but I don't think the border is complimentary. I especially like the appearance of the wings on the bee in the upper left. |

Grumpy old thistleby inamoComment: Great pairing of old thistle with new. Like salmiakki, I'm not a fan of the border. |

red poppy 01by tnunComment: Really nice. I like the watery yet grainy look of this. Very dreamy. |

300_5279Day9.jpgby salmiakkiComment: Roses are pretty, especially the center blossom. However, the overlay you chose doesn't fit well, in my opinion. It's too harsh for a typical rose shot, and yet not harsh enough if you're really trying to contrast a grungy look with the "soft" subject. The underlying shot is a good base for this sort of effect, just maybe try a different, grungier overlay. |
