Back to comment: Sorry but this is more of a candid than a portrait in my opinion. The background is cluttered and the flowers on the right hand side need to be cropped out. However, then it wouldn't be a landscape portrait and would really suffer for not meeting the challenge.

Back to comment: Hard to count this as a portrait but since there is a person in it, I'll give you the minimum passing grade. As for the image itself, it could use a bit of sharpening to bring out the details and just a bit more pop to the colors via post processing with levels or curves.

Back to comment: This image doesn't show a lot of personality, as it looks like you sneaked the shot and then cropped it to make a portrait. The face has a very flat look to it and I think a different B&W conversion technique would help bring out the details in her face. Take a look at this great tuitorial on B&W conversion. The focus also looks a little soft around the eyes. Did you remember to sharpen the image after downsizing it for the challenge?

Back to comment: You aren't using the full size limit that the challenges allow for an image. Your image is 350 X 234 pixels in size. You are allowed to make the longest dimension 640 pixels. You are also allowed a file size of 150 kb. Your image is only 100 kb. Smaller images and smaller file sizes make it harder to see the detail in your image. I initially gave this a 4 for being small but I am bumping to a 6 because it has so much personality. If it was bigger, I would probably score it even higher.
