Pool Position by h2Comment: This has got to be one of my all time favourite shots on the site.
It's the very model of balance, composition, patterning, lines, use of colour, subtle lighting.

If I was to suggest any changes at all, it would be to crop out most of the hair on the right and at the top.
The OOF background makes a delicious contrast to the face, and the hair seems to drain away some of that energy. |

For this kind of scene, if the background allows, it's often better to get down closer to the level of the subject.
For this photo, you might get a similar effect from a tighter crop. |
