Road to Ruin

There's a lot of classic elements to like in this image. The leading line of the path, very nice texture and tonal range. Excellent conversion. If I were to do anything I think I might of lifted the composition just a bit to expose a little more sky, maybe just enough to lose the first stone lining the path but that's a nit-pick at most. Very nice image and a good choice for B&W

I like this very much! You played the sharpness of the twigs against the softness of the rest of the image very well. Nice work.

What a neat capture. I like the texture but agree with you on the flatness of tone.

I like the contrast and movement of the passerby. I'm not crazy about the crop but the conversion and tonal range is excellent.

I like the light reflecting on the rails. It creates interseting leading lines. I think I might have considered a tighter crop to remove the truck from the right side of the image though.

I like the leading line of the railing through the image. I think more tonal range or contrast would make this a better shot. I agree with the little to left suggestion on the composition. I think I would have also liked to see the top of the arch.

I like the composition and the contrast but i find the brightness of the lower jaw a bit distracting. I wonder if knocking down some of the highlights would make it even better.

Very nice exposure I like the depth of the sky. I also find the converging line intriguing. I would normally be put-off by the lens distortion but I think it actually enhances this shot. Well done.

In my humble opinion there's nothing wrong with this light. Yes its subtle but you used it masterfully! I wouldn't have know you had less than the conditions you hoped for if you hadn't told us. There's just light enough to highlight her eyes and lips beautifully. You had the pretty model and it looks like you made the most of the space, time and light you had.

Very nice DOF and B&W conversion. Great shot overall!

Very nice Deb! Simple and natural composition. The B&W conversion is great but what I really like is the depth of field. I think its enhanced even more by the fact that the water is highlighted in the foreground and dark in the background.

I look forward to seeing more of your B&W work as the year progresses.
