Goof by lovethelightComment: This is one of those images that you see during voting, and think to yourself: "this should win, but it probably will be overlooked". So glad that the collective audience agreed with my initial reaction. Congrats on a great image (and the ribbon that came along with it)! |

Parting Waysby Art RoflmaoComment: Very cool pic, Ken! I love the story that it tells (probably much different for every viewer). Great processing.
Well done :O) |

I, The Chicken Farmerby LadyKComment: I really like this image (for several reasons). First, the composition is great - as is the subject. Who can resist a cute, furry little chick like that? ( very DPC friendly).
A couple of things caught my eye on the technicals... things that IMO would have made this really pop: 1. For a cleaner look - you might try cloning out the small dust spots on the mirror
2. You mention this was f/5.6, so I can only assume that you blurred the background in software
(it looks razor thin - f/1.8ish). While I'm normally a HUGE fan of super shallow DoF, I actually
think this would've benefitted from a bit more depth. The only thing in focus is the very front edge
of the chick. Maybe try taking it back to the first shell (?)
3. Just a bit lacking in contrast - this would've really popped off of the screen with a bit more. Again - stellar image, with a lot of potential to have ribboned. :O)

Green Eyesby ryandComment: This is stunning. Love the DoF, the natural lighting, and the composition. Perfect catchlights. Unusual for a simple portrait to stand out in a FS filled with awesome images (in my book anyway). You've nailed it. Well done. |

Watching & Waitingby dougi555Comment: Back to comment. This stands out, which says a lot in a Master's FS. Wonderful use of shadows, subtle tones, & creative lighting to create a stunning image. Well done. |
