Magnoliaby michael_pComment: The placement of the flower is good, but there is a lot of other detail in the shot that seems to competing for attention. What looks like the petal of another flower on the right is a little distracting. Getting closer to the flower and filling the frame with it would have been ideal, especially if your camera is unable to control the depth of field and put the branches/leaves out of focus more. |

40by melismaticaComment: Good color combination with the red, white, and blue, and an interesting blend of textures between the tarp and whatever material the red is (looks kinda like metal). The subject doesnt really do much for me, though, sorry. |

Take Cover!by sjonniComment: Interesting idea! She has a great smile, which I think infects the rest of the image. I think everyone has been caught out in a sudden rain shower and although it's annoying you just have to smile and find it humorous. This image certainly captures that 'spirit' |

Behind the Green Fenceby ccaseyComment: Very cute and good use of natural framing. The expression on the foremost dog is kind of a mix between curious and sadness. I like the depth of field with the two dogs filling up the 'space' between the fence posts. And the color combo of white/green is good too. I like it! |

Is it cheese?by toddheadComment: Getting the exposure on moon shots can be tough but you've managed to get it right here. Good detail on the surface, although it still seems a little blurry. Definitely a good effort! |

Captain, there be whales...by sixmacsComment: The image is quite cluttered but I guess it gives an atmosphere of a workman's study. The lighting and focus seems ok. The subject choice is different and I guess overall it works as either a documentary or photojournalistic type shot. |

Emergency fire hoseby borisonComment: Interesting subject. The texture isnt bad and the play of light and shadow is ok. I guess it could be considered abstract. Doesn't really do much for me, though, sorry. |

Grooming Timeby MWittComment: Good detail and exposure. The textures on the horses, roof, and pole is great and all share complimentary tones. Shame about the overcast 'blown' sky, but that was partly why you had good lighting on the rest of the image. Neat shot. |

Come Fly with Me!by ArtifactsComment: Wow, that's pretty close! Butterflies tend to fly off when I get too close so you did a great job getting in there. I like the composition too. The colors are great, and the body of the butterfly is very sharp. I'm a fan of shallow dof but I cant decide whether I like the majority of the wings being OOF or not. In some ways they make the body details stand more a lot, but on the other they lose the texture and detail of the wings. Even so, a very cool shot! |

Somewhere In The Maryland Countrysideby GolferDDSComment: Love the green, it's very vibrant and lush and the blend of yellow flowers makes it very springtime. The sheep are interesting being in a line such as they are, and I like how most of them are not paying attention but the one in the center seems to be staring this way. I'm torn between liking the crop and not liking the crop. A lot can be said for having negative space to give expanse, but I think because it's not just a field and it has bushes/trees and such that I might have preferred to have seen a cropped version with just the field/sheep, which could have helped bring out some of the character and detail of the animals as well. |
