Aphrodisiacs with Lemonby hotpastaComment: A good idea. Lighting is fine and the use of shallow DOF adds interest to the composition. Unfortunately the dish appears crooked and will be a distaction for viewers. |

Bruschettaby MayaMComment: Good colors and lighting and an appealing macro. The background with the peppers on white is a nice touch. In an arrangment like this you want to pay close attention to detail. For example, the leftmost bruscheta's leaf does not goes off the frame but the rightmost one does. This looks unbalanced to the human eye. Though probably inappropriate for the dish if you used a spray bottle to mist it with water droplets it would give it even more appeal. |

A Royal Korean Dish - Goo Jeol Panby pa_cuthbertComment: Arrangement is fine. Lighting seems slightly bright and overexposed but not badly so. Focus looks soft. You might consider getting much closer to the food itself to the point of cutting off the edges of the containers. That is common photographic practice to do things like that and the food would be larger in the frame and the viewer could better see just how delicious it is. You could cut out the lavender background all together and it would be OK. |

Thai Shrimp with Red Curry Sauceby pawdrixComment: Any chef will tell you that presentation is the one of the most important parts of a meal. You have done a terrific job with this composition and display. DOF is perfect for highlighting the schrimp, crop is just right and the colors and lighting are good. The reflection off the right side of the shrimp is only a small distraction. Great job! |

INDIAN SALTY DISH(DALL)by sandeepsalwan45Comment: This image is not overexposed and the green color tones are fine but the overall image quality is not partcularly good. It is taken from an ordinary perspective and the focus is off, especially on the soup where it matters most. Message edited by author 2006-02-08 07:44:36. |
