The arrangement of this image is fine. Since it has both black and white prominent in the dish then a colored background, perhaps red or blue, might work better to highlight it and the dark bowl holding the oreos. The dish itself looks busy and the soft focused foreground is distracting because the eye begs to see that detail clearly.

Mother and child seem content together but most reviewers will likely find the image does not "meet the challenge" as they see it and vote it lower. On the technical side the image is taken from an "ordinary" perspective and is not quite as sharp as it could be. The mother's garb has nice green colors.

Good arrangement. The background color seems bright but it highlights the dish well. Lighting is even and food well illuminated. It appears the camera was focused more on the background than the food itself which is to bad but a common problem with autofocus cameras. You can either refocus it on the food or take the picture at a higher f/stop to increase DOF and have the food better focused.

Angle and perspective add interest to the shot. Image quality is excellent and it has the proper focus point. It does not have anything that jumps out and grabs you but it is a very nice picture and very well constructed.

The composition and the arrangement are fine and the strawberries add needed color. The white flakes seem washed out and act more as a distraction from the overall quality of the image rather than a support for it.

The arrangement and composition is fine in this image but the softer focus loses fine detail that the eye would like to see and that acts as a visual distraction. Looks like the background is in sharper focus than the onion. Shooting at a higher f/stop would increase DOF and eliminate that problem.

Fruit, Vegetable, and Chicken Salad

Good mix of colors. The cherries(?) on the lower right appear dark on my monitor. The chicken salad is a little soft focused and detracts from the fine arrangement. Looks perhaps like the camera focused on most the distant objects and that the DOF was to shallow to retain everything in sharp focus.

Good display and nice arrangement of the food and chopsticks in the image. Looks like a bit of jaggies on reflection off the lower right rim of the holder but otherwise there are no digital effect visible at all. Well done image.

Very nice arrngement and the fired grill soft focused in the background is very nice. This meets the challenge especially well in that you visually display a recipe for your hamburger. Very nicely done.
