Thought this was yours. Very nice and congrats on the ribbon. The spread between us was too close for comfort. I had you as my top pic.

Nice shot overall. Good lines, curves, shadows and focus. Interest level for me was a bit lower. Even though from a technical standpoint (as far as I am able to judge technical aspects of pictures) this works well, the image itself doesn't scream "Look at me!!!".
Edit - Looking back at your top challenge entries I am really glad that this didnt do a tad bit better. I think your teapot shot is far superior and wouldnt like to see that one replaced with this one.

I gave this one a 4 (sorry Deb). I think a slightly wider crop to show off mor eof the vendors stuff may have helped. Also maybe a different angle to see more of the mom and kids face as they are eyeballing the stuff. Depth of focus works well. Colors could have been brought out just a tad bit more for further separation. Overall interest/appeal was kind of low for me since I was not really able to connect to the principles in the pic. Just didnt tell me a story overall.

It seems like alot of the fine details are lost in this pic - probably due to resizing. Everything seems a bit too blurry. The colors are ok, though on my monitor there seems to be a slight odd cast to it all. I am not quite sure what the focus of the shot is. Is it the path or maybe the red and white buds? Just not enough detail for either to stand out in an eye catching way. A hidden treat would have been nice - such as maybe a deer at the end of the path peeking out in the trees. Somehting that would have been a fun find. I realize that you probably dont have a deer at your disposal, but something clear to focus on would have helped. (Sorry for the ramble).

As a performer who plays with fire as well, I enjoyed this shot. Good colors (maybe saturated just a tad bit more) and the flame looks great. You caught a moment in a performance that is alot of fun. His face seems a bit washed out. And the background image on the canvas is a bit of a distraction. At first I thought hew was wearing a hat or had weird hairdo. A vertical shot may have been nice as his outfit probably looked pretty cool. That would have garnered the pic more interest I think. Overall a fun shot. I gave this a 6.

I gave a 4 on this one. The colors are a bit flat. The position of the llamas head would have been better if cocked down looking at the camera a bit. A position where you may think he is looking at who he is going to spit at (which would have been you). More of a protrait pose (if you can get a llama to pose for a portrait - lol) would have helped. Also the trees are a distraction. A solid sky background would have been very nice, especially with him being off centered. Selective saturation on him would have made him stand out a bit better as well.

Right off the bat - way too much shadow for me and not enough detail. The light in the back, while it does shine on the wall, just seems so bright that that is where my eyes go to and it just doesnt offer anything but being a bright spot. I gave this a 4 overall. I understand the idea and felt it made the challenge description, but technically it is too dark for me without enough detailed highlights. And from that the interest/appeal level was diminished.

Way to go in actually engaging your subject before shooting. I have not really gotten the guts to do that whole hog yet. I figured he was homeless, but he does look pretty clean and orderly. His socks look in better condition than my own. I think that if you had captured a shot that was more candid - with him looking down or away - you would have scored higher. Technically the pic seems fine. Good detail and sharpness, duotones work well. The overall interest level just isnt high in my opinion. A grungier guy or different pose would have helped change that.
