In the Marshby shankswareComment: Back to comment - I think your background blur really carries this image. Cool patterns and nice subdued colors. The cattail up front isnt really grabbing me though. Maybe if it had either been totally poofed out or caught clean and smooth before its explosion may have helped. It just isnt an attractive main subject although the line it takes works well with the bokeh. |

Day 7 - Unwavering Attentionby MaryOComment: I would have to agree with the others. The gate is non existent as far as my initial look at the image. Didnt even think about it until you mentioned it. Lovely softness to the image that just works wonderfully with the dogs coat. Would not hav ehad the same impact with a super sharp image. Lighting colors and focus are beautiful. Very nice capture and editing. |

Whiteby kwiktorComment: I guess I am just not catching the bokeh on this one. Everything seems to be in focus pretty well throughout. It is a nice picture. Great lines and the funky tilt works well. I could see this doing gangbusters in another challenge. |

Drinks At The Starlight Roomby LouisComment: I am not usually one for wine glass shots but this has a different feel to it. You have made the bokeh the primary aspect of the image without it being silly. The refraction works well and I really like the dark moody tones that you have caught. Maybe a bit wide onthe border but that wont affect my vote. Nice capture. |

Life after Fireby rozComment: I like this shot. Great clarity on the cicada shell and the blurred background is a perfect compliment without being overpowering. It adds great colors and patterns and finishes off the image nicely. Very pleasant shot to what many would consider to be a very ugly creature. |

Eye of the Parkby shadeeuaComment: Very creative idea. I had not seen this before this challenge. The strongest of the similar ones in the challenge. Great placement of the camera. The blurred background is what makes this shot. It has a slightly gimmick feel to it but it is clean and the colors are pleasing. Good capture. |

Sparkly Decorationsby JeniYComment: Interesting shot. You took an object and actually made it work with the background bokeh. So many images the two parts did not fit or make sense. This was a brilliant choice. The colors compliment each other well from front to back as well as the patterns. Great DOF on the ornament and it is very nice that the bokeh starts on it rather than the whole bulb being in focus. A very nice touch. I think you could probably market this image to upscale department stores during the holidays. Bumping up to an 8. |

Mum-scapeby BalkoComment: This is nice. One of the better single flower images. You have a nice placement of the in focus front flower and your blurred background offers pleasant colors that compliments it well. While maybe not what most are looking for in bokeh I think you met the challenge well with a pleasing image that was enhanced by the background. Very pretty and pleasing shot. |

Fall, a Tree's Perspectiveby fas-ligandComment: This is great. THere was another image inthis challenge very simialr but with a red background that I thought worked very well. This is a standout no less. Great detail on your front leaf and your blurred background is an excellent contrast that compliments it well. The green and soft random patterns balance out the strong red and patterned lines. This is a very pleasing shot. 8 for now. |

Meerkatby DavidComment: Very nice capture. Great focus and clarity on the meerkat and your blurred background offers great colors and patterns that compliment him well without being overpowering. Has a "wild" feel to it. Excellent work. 8 |
