this is pretty ordinary for a first submission.. i'm hoping the amazing talent in DPC will inspire & educate me.. i had entered another photo which i preferred and then realised that in basic editing you cant use dodge tool.. didnt have time to redo it so i've put this one in instead .. did minimal crop, minimal brightness/contrast, resize, sharpen, save4web..

Love this shot and can relate to it. Grew up with a lot of these little critters around the place.Look forward to seeing many more great shots. Going to add you to my favourites.

I like this shot. Great clarity on the cicada shell and the blurred background is a perfect compliment without being overpowering. It adds great colors and patterns and finishes off the image nicely. Very pleasant shot to what many would consider to be a very ugly creature.
