A Portrait of An Artist by librodoComment: Congratulations on another ribbon! I was totally fooled by Philos31's image which I thought was yours... and when I voted on this I said to myself someone else is using Librodo's kind of light :D... lovely image. I particularly like how the net in the background adds to the picture, in another composition it might have been just an irritating background object but here it adds a lot to the picture. And an excellent light, as always! |

Windows to the soulby arpitaComment: Thank you everyone for your comments on this image! This is a picture I had been wanting to make for a while. Thanks are due to a lot of people: my model Mansi whose eyes I have been wanting to photograph since I met her :); sgauria and manic for helpful post-processing comments, librodo whose excellent portraits are the reason i got interested in portrait photography, and many other people here, notably john setlzer, from whom I have learnt a lot of things, both post-processing and otherwise.... Flowergirlsby RobroComment: Very photogenic subjects, and the colors are nice. The way the girls are sitting though, the picture almost naturally appears split in two... I wonder if you could have gotten in closer, and just gotten two of them in a more close-up candid. It would allow showing more detail in each of their faces, esp. the eyes. |

sisterby aplomb76Comment: I like how you can see the photographer (is it?) in the right catchlight. The little white spot near the right cheek is distracting, and can be either cloned or burned out. Also a little more space at the top to see more forehead would help, I think. |
