Spotted Rugby purplecats4meComment: This shot does meet the challenge, but that is about it. There is nothing here to really hold the viewer's interest or stir an emotion. You did incorporate a shallow depth of field, but again, that is lost without having an element that is emphasized by that technique. |

Seeing Spotsby rtscribbs02Comment: I don't care for the blurred effect. Maybe if it were a little less extreme, it would be more pleasing. |

Capecod getting smallerby whiterookComment: I am very curious to know what this photo means to you. There are no spots, so you don't seem to be concerned with the challenge, so there must be some other reason for sharing this.
Technically, there are a few things wrong with this.
1. It is over exposed. The building in the background is washed out. A faster shutter speed would help control this.
2. There is a lot of camera shake which makes this shot look blurry. This could also be helped by a faster shutter speed.
3. The composition is crooked. One mistake I often make is focusing on the subject as I look through the camera, you must remember to look at the border around the image when you are taking the picture.
I hope all of this is helpful! |

I hear these voices ...by B74AComment: Hello from the Critique Club!
This is a great perspective shot. You captured very well the idea that you are doing everything you can to listen to the very important words from the duckie. The two conflicting moods play well with each other; the seriousness of your expression, and the silliness of the rubber duck. This is enhanced even more by your choice to give this a sepia finish.
When I first looked at this, I never noticed the "irritating details" you mentioned in your notes. And even now, that I can see what you are referring to, I do not find them distracting.
Overall, well done! |

Bareby ZigomarComment: I like this idea, but I think the DoF is still too deep. The dominoes on either side of the blank are very distracting. |

Smartiesby WookieComment: You are probably going to get a lot of comments about how small this shot is. However, I do think it meets the challenge well and I like the colors. |

LA Storyby GermaineComment: This shot lacks any obvious subject, nor does it evoke any emotion. Although it does show HDR, this shot can not stand on that alone. |
