Maroonedby KronusComment: One person's desolation is another person's paradise. âLet me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London Iâll show you something to make you change your mindâ or Brooklyn where canalas are so polluted they catch fire. |

Faceless in the Streetby stare_at_the_sunComment: Surreal, hypnotic, enlightened. These things come to mind. No sense of desolation is evoked or depicted. But IMO it is a clever photo which has its uses. |

Nature's Carpetby XileboComment: One of the very few landscapes in this challenge which does have a sense of desolation about it. |

On The Mountainby TroutbearComment: Peaks (attaintment of goals), blue sky (clean air and freedom), lush forests (virgin lands). Come to Brooklyn and I will show you canals that catch fire they are so polluted. âLet me take you by the hand and lead you through the streets of London Iâll show you something to make you change your mindâ |

Against a Wallby JutildaComment: A fine animal, noble in its domain, caught, caged, and forgotten. A sense of desolation is evoked. |

Wildernessby Faye PekasComment: This is very, very far from being desolate. Come to Brooklyn and I will show you canals so polluted they catch on fire. |

In the middle of nowhereby TrollManComment: It is a great photo but what has it got to do with desolation? Wonderful tones but to this viewer they do not evoke the feeling of desolation. Lovely silhouette, but no symbolism related to desolation, IMO. |

I Miss The Family Roomby Shan2112Comment: Yes, a bit desolate indeed. It does evoke that feeling and captures the literal meaning. The colours do not work against the desolation as they do in many of the other images entered in this challenge. |
