The rich out of focus background and the direction of the hoops creates a harmonic composition. You remind me that composition is made up of many elements vying for attention and some working to enhance each other.

Week 2: Old Pinola

Your photo reminds me of what I think of as the "leak points" or doors out of the image. Here there are two; the upstairs, and the downstairs back. The way out looks bright. There is some sort of symbolism at work there, visual metaphors. It's a fascinating location. Some would drape it with semi-nude humans. It's pretty good as it is.

loco-motion lines

"Going somewhere" photos attract me at present. I like the gritty imperfect image. Imperfection is suitably emotive for "on the road" photos, IMO. 7.

Nice location and composition. The softness of the image is appealing. I find the frame very distracting. It formalizes the picture and says "this phot is endorsed as real art." But it stands in the way of my viewing. 6.

I thought of the same location too. It was a bit wet so did not have the opportunity. I think the camera viewpoint would be better down low with more of a wide angle shot. 0.02 cents.
