My favorite hangout again.

And a cropped version:

Post challenge - OK, too dark, not enough detail. Did it at least have leading lines? Really didn't go over very well, huh? But I did get a very nice collection of 4s and under! Yay me!

Nice depiction of a lazy subway station. Fits the theme very well, but way too dark, unless you were going for silouhettes? Alas, I can't apply that to my score If you were, because this is just too dark, and too bright in the background to the point that my eyes hurt looking at it! lol. More balancing would have made this a fine black and white photo. I'd give this a 5.

I think it's wonderful Deb - lighter and you'd have lost the ambiance in favor of detail. Detail that, I feel, would have been distracting and un-needed in this photo.

Deb

You are one of the few people I know who shares my fascination in train stations. You have just got to get yourself to London and visit the newly refurbished St Pancras station which is - along with the Houses of Parliment my favourite piece of architecture in a city which has many remarkable examples

I liked the drakness of it which meant that the light at the end of the platform is even more stark and vivid, although I possibly prefer the cropped version even more

Nice atmospheric end of day feel about the image

Deb I like the cropped version better. It accentuates the lines which I assume are to draw the eye to the person walking away.

Leading lines work well for me here - and I like how you placed the most light area on the left third of the shot, you get a sense of expansiveness from all that light-going-to-black on the right, and sets off the "main" area well, even better, I think, than the cropped version. I see this as, beyond the meet-the-challenge aspect, a study of light and shadows, so I'm not concerned too much about loss of detail. I suppose I should have voted this challenge. :(

Don't boo hiss me but I think I like the cropped version better. That puts the focus solely on the man leading out of the shot. I do love the contrasts and silhouettes in both.

I still love this shot, Deb. But then, I like stark contrast in shots.

Nice image. The use of the train & yellow line with the gentleman walking is well done. I my humble opinion the lighting was working against you here.

like the way the line leads to the man...

I like this a lot but it's a tad too dark for me.

A stark and moody entry. Lines of the walk draw the eye to the subject ... well done

I love this concept for leading lines alot. This is a highly rated photo for me -- but I would probably vote it even higher if there was a little more detail in the shadow/silhouette areas. But very nice all the same!

A little too dark for my taste.

I could do with a snack at that station cafe. I feel "on the road-ish" lately so this appeals to me. Going places and those lines lead me off on trip. 7.

Great comp. The grayscale plays up the mood well. Nice choice.
