Good lighitng and the composition is good. Some areas seem over processed, light the lady's jacket but it's not too bad. not a wow shot but a good shot neverthe;ess. above average. 7

portrait challenge and here we have a monument (in ottawa? in front of the parliament blg?). DOesn't meet cahllenge in my view. BUt the shot is great. Good composition. nice contrasts. glare is a bit annoying so i'll give you a 5 despite the DNMC

Good shot. nice composition. good lighitng fro mthe front and back. there's a costume. gausian blurrrrrrr effective here. not my favorite photo in the sense that it doesn't do it for me but as photos go (lighting skill, editing, composition etc) is good. 8

ok, so this is not a "wow" shot, but it's nice. The capture is good. Real smiles with a real brotherly bond. there is a lack of controlled lighting and your tried to make up for it my dodging and burning. It's too obvious. Use a lower percentage next time, but either way, it will be spotted everytime i think. Also...the blur...for "cool" younf guys like these, why blur? I would blur when it comes to white horses and fairies etc, but here it kills the manly brotherly bond i find. 6 because it above average

This seems to me like a simple shot that didn;t take muc htime to do. No controlled lighting which is fine if there is something else to compensate for it but htis shot doesn't. It's a basic shot with no capture of a specific moment. it's a girl standing between two buses. The crop is also a little off i find. The feet are cut off which makes it a little ackward i find. The focus is there and you obvisouly meet hte challenge. But it's an average shot. 5

Ok, so the title says it all about the facial expression. Props for that. Image is nice and sharp. The bokeh is great. Makes the photo that much more 3d. However it's not an exceptional capture. there is no wow effect here for me...i'm thinking 6 or 7, but seeing how everyone is pissed at there low scores, 7 ;)

OK, so i find this to be an average shot. It's a snap shot, without any controlled lighting etc. One does not always need excellent lighting but as a result your need something to that type of photo to make up for that lack of "wow" lighting, and this photo doesn't seem to have it. Maye had it been an exceptional facial expression, or moment in time. This just seems to me like: hey Timmy, can i take a picture of you? oh open your mouth to make it cooler kinda thing. Also SIZE! Always take advantage of the 640 size! You can hurt when the pictures are much smaller. Final score: 5

I find that the shot is tooo overexposed. You lose facial details that normally make a person's face interesting to look at. And the eyes are overly processed, and not only to they stand out too much, but they actually make me feel uncomfortable. However the capture of the smile is very effective and has to be taken into account. Also composition wise it;s quite good with the capture of the moment! 6 because it's above average but overly processed.

So first of all this shot stands out i find. It's simple and the lighting is very effective. Half of your face shows, the other half doesn't. The eye is super effective and the DOF is good. maybe have the ear sharp too but i don't really mind there. THis is a 7 in my opion because there is quality to the image. Not enough to go higher than that but it's most definitely a higher than average shot
