More like a "snapshot" rather than a true "portrait" shot

Ok, there is a ragining debte about people's voting habits at the moment, so i will attempt to give a detailed comment with my vote:

Ok, so the title says it all about the facial expression. Props for that. Image is nice and sharp. The bokeh is great. Makes the photo that much more 3d. However it's not an exceptional capture. there is no wow effect here for me...i'm thinking 6 or 7, but seeing how everyone is pissed at there low scores, 7 ;)

Nice "coloring" with the bw, but the backround takes away from the overall composition of this.

Good shot and great detail. I just feel like she's falling over.

Distracting background that is angled

not so flatering for your mom and the background kinda blows. However you are one of the few that knows what nice black and white tones are.

The B&W treatment is okay. I just don't "get" the pose... I don't think it is very flattering for her (mainly due to her neck). I think she could be made to look much more beautiful with a pose that would hide the slight double-chin and the lines on her neck.
