Let There Be Lightby nrouteComment: 53rd place??? No way!!! You should have rated much higher in my view. It seems you got no credit for the technical merits of the capture. |

Transition No. 4by tlalondeComment: I think you should have finished much higher. There is no way this is only the 38th best photo in my opinion. The photo is well framed. The exposure is about perfect. You have captured the action in a very graphic fashion. I had this capture rated very high. I wish you better luck in the ratings in the future. |

No Ugly Duckling by ShiiizzzamComment: Extremely nice photo. I rated this one a ten. Excellent exposure and composition. Great timing to catch the chick looking back at its old home. Looks very natural. Keep up the good work, and don't be tempted to overprocess. This photo is great just as it is. Thought you might have a winner here. All the best to you. At this pace you are sure to have a winner soon. |

Mike Schwentner: Lien Grabby Ricky CleaveComment: I like your viewing angle. Very interesting subject. As constructive criticism, you may have tried to overexpose the scene a little more. As you may already know, when shooting in a bright scene, such as snow or very bright sunlight, the camera will tend to meter for a short exposure or small (numerically large) aperture as it tries to average the scene to neutral grey. You then have to overexpose the shot to compensate for this if your subject is a darker object in the scene. I think this probably would have been a fabulous photo if the exposure would have been "nailed". Again, please take this in the spirit it is intended as I have no desire to "tell you something you already know". Nice work. |

Jum.by cthenkComment: Not only did you stop the motion, but you conveyed a sense of fun and joy with this photo. Would have rated it even higher if the exposure would have been more appealing. Looks like you took the photo in bright sunlight, which can be tough and demanding for any subject. Nice job. |

Fly'in Highby ShiiizzzamComment: Nice shot. You nailed the exposure. I think it would have been even better shot from an angle to show a more appealling background. Maybe shooting up from below? Different part of the track? I know that race photographers intentionally use a fast enough shutter speed to stop the body, but fast enough to hint at the wheels turning, but for this particular challenge you may have wanted a higher shutter speed to stop the wheels also? Having said all of this, I still rated this photo very high. I appreciate how difficult this type of shot can be. My comments are meant t be constructive criticism. Please take them in that light, as I like the photo. Nice job. |

Spearing Waterby SeirComment: This photo shows that a water shot can be very interesting. Did you rotate the photo 180 degrees? I rated this photo very high. |
