The Interrogation by grahamgatorComment: Fantastic idea and wonderfully presented...or should I say executed;-P Lighting and tones are well done keeping the attention focused on the main subjects and action happening. Love that one can see a few scratches on the wood and the metal dust to further strengthen the imagery of the knife sawing through the fork tines. Kudos to your husband for sawing the fork tines off for you to accomplish this unique shot! I wonder if this was the only fork that was cut or did it take a few times to get the desired result? Great work! |

Let there be White-Lightby gipper11Comment: A simply elegant composition capturing the delicate nature of the dried plants in the vase. Love the delicate and 'lacy' look of the leaves that capture the light. |

Shellyby jomariComment: Beautiful composition that captures these treasures one finds after a carefree day at the beach! Love how the shells pop visually off of the white sand. |

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." - Roger Caras by MinsoPhotoComment: Great timing to capture the curled tongue licking the nose! Love the light that illuminates this beloved pet as he/she waits by the window waiting for their loved one(s) to return home. Beautiful details too from the fur to the catchlight in the dog's eye. I quite agree with the quote -Happy dogs do wait with anxious anticipation for us to return home and the warm welcome they greet us with is overflowing. |

Door to Backstage by josaaComment: Congrats on your Red! I would love to know *more* of the story behind this wonderfully captured image. For me what story unfolds from the photograph is a music lesson being given in the surroundings of an studio filled with music (the piano and the guitars) and art. One can feel the creative vibe being strummed in this setting. |

rage against the dying of the light by tangueraComment: Beautiful work Johanna! Congrats on the Blue. B&W was an excellent choice here because when paired with the title, the audience thinks upon the dark and the light. I love the expression here of the dancer. She (you) dances with wild abandon, raging against the dying of the light, all the while she is constrained in the square frame. She dances despite being restricted to the box. |

Costume shoppingby hahn23Comment: That costume shop looks like a really neat place to browse. My eye is drawn more to the worker on the right that is looking at the display in the window; his stance and direction looks like he is window shopping and might even be considering going in to search for a costume. I think that is where the strength of the image rests. In my opinion the left half does not do much for the composition aside from showing more of the costume displays in the window. The two men on the right side are having a discussion and are not focused at all on the shop - to me they distract from where you want us to see (costume shopping given the title). I think it would strengthen the composition to crop the picture to just show the man on the right standing in front of that one display window for he does look like is contemplating going in and shopping for a costume. |

shiftyby PennyStreetComment: Heh, a great street image showing the comings and goings of city life - so to speak. The woman and her mirror reflection 'walking' in opposite directions makes me think of all the people that come and go on this city block. Tis a shame that the One Way sign is not more prominent in the scene (slightly hidden behind scaffolding) for it is a wonderful little detail that compliments the scene. |
