After 20 years being here in South Florida, I decided that it was high time to visit Little Havana. I went early morning to beat the tourist crowds.

One of my first stops was Máximo Gómez Park better known as Domino Park. At 10:30 in the morning it was very lively with the clatter of dominoes and the chatter/banter of the men (and a few women) that were playing or watching the games. I spent about 40 minutes watching and taking pictures of several tables. Many of the people there were so very intent on playing that I don't think they noticed I was there.

In the last few minutes I was drawn to a table at the far end. This elderly gent was laughing and smiling with his friends through 2 games of dominos. His laughter & wide toothless smile just drew me to his table. He spotted me taking his picture and smiled & waved at me. I smiled & waved back with a greeting of 'Hola' (one of the few phrases I can speak in Spanish). He smiled, returned the greeting and went back to his game.

This moment was too good not to share - I hope that others enjoy this moment as much as I did.

so glad this fits on the front page, so I can see it again and again. I forgot to mention the light, and the hand is a work of art in itself. (one of my top scorers).

Reggio enjoyed his daily game. It had been a while since he had won but that wasn't the reason he came. The four of them had been friends for over 50 years since they were children.

This may not be a quintessential "street" photo but it certainly is uplifting! Atypical of what we usually see in this sort of genre. Well done 8
