eighteen/thirtyby UNCLEBROComment: Lovely portrait and wonderful, pleasing conversion. It really does justice to what looks to be a wonderful companion. Great background and highlights throughout. |

seventeen/thirtyby UNCLEBROComment: This definitely has a bit of a scary feel to it, and like Charlene ( dcnfarrell said, it gets my heart racing. Nice effect, and good image overall. |

sixteen/thirtyby UNCLEBROComment: I don't take this so much as a mess as I do a study in light, lines and shadow, and for that, it's really strong. Good DoF to get the desired result, and lots of interesting bits to look at. Excellent. |

8x10by timfythetooComment: I liked this image and gave it an 8; can't believe it didn't do better (I thought I was looking at a ribbon or at least a top ten here, but then I only picked two of the top ten shots for this challenge, so what do I know)! I thought the basics of the image were great; good composition, good choice of subject, well shot. The desat is interesting and adds to the image, and leaving everything in the frame in color was a good choice to draw the viewer there. I liked it (and still do). |

A Nice Place to Rest...by geahsklzComment: I gave you a 9 on this; it is definitely not a sub-5 image for me (obviously). I like the subtlety in the choice of subject, the gentle use of color, and nice conversion (at least on my monitor). Sorry it didn't do better for you! |

Ivy Churchby teebee2eComment: I gave you a 9 on this; I liked it, the desat works well to draw us into the church (I want to go and open the door), and the sun doesn't affect me negatively at all. Sorry it didn't do better for you, but I still like it looking again (and I looked three times during the challenge, too). |

those little yellow shoesby ordinaryangelComment: I gave you your highest score on this (a 9). I really liked it. To my eye, it tells a story (very underrated on DPC, I'm learning), and the technicals don't detract from that. The composition to me says "street photography," not busy background, and your use of selective desat fits well, drawing extra attention to the natural subject of the image (and it's not overdone, which would not have fit here very well). Sorry it didn't do better for you. |

Forgottenby tooterComment: I gave this a 9, and I'm really disappointed it scored so low. I really, really don't get it. The softness and silvery tones of the B&W go so well with the vintage look of the, well, um, I guess it used to be a truck? Composition is spot on; lighting enhances the image; image tells a story; I don't know what else people wanted. |

Tiger Tiger Burning Bright ...by FirstyComment: I liked your choices here; the saturation is pleasing in an otherwise dark composition, and use of dark space I thought was very effective. I gave this a 9, and I'm surprised it didn't do better for you. I did my part ;) |

Long Day at the Zooby Buckeye_FanComment: 5.6. I don't get it. This is a wonderful shot, nice conversion, and good choice for the selective desat. It tells a story (at one time that was the purpose of photography), is well done technically, and presents itself well. I gave it a 9. |
