A Sunset Dipby JayWalkComment: There's too much sky. Consider the rule of thirds when placing your horizon. DOF could be stronger by getting the trainers with a slightly sharper focus. Otherwise a good idea well done. I like how you lead the viewer from the shoes to the wader with their orientation, and the way you picked out just enough of the sunlight on the trainers and nothing else. 6
A tiny point I noticed, was the lack of footprints between the 2. Can he fly? If so, cool! I'd pay to see that. :D |

divorced...by taterbugComment: Youy could crop away about a 1/6th off the top and the right hand side imo. I like the gloomy atmosphere you've evoked though. |

Solution of smelly shoesby Foto DevilComment: The ball is unneceessary and the writing on the deodorant can could be sharper in focus. Personally I would have placed the shoe below the can, since it's got more visual 'weight' if you get me? |

Rippedby grahamwComment: Nice simple composition, and the overexposure making the soles and heels bleed into the background really helps to focus on the subject and nothing else: the rip in the shoes. Well picked out. |

shoesby melodeeComment: Poor lighting, check your WB. Nothing is in focus. Just looks like your camera fell by the shoes and took the shot accidentally. |

These Shoes Were Made For Walkingby JohnTFComment: I may seem unreasonably unfair but I don't like the pics in this challenge (and you're not alone) where shoes are getting up and going about their business without any owners. I'd have given a higher mark for the nice use of DOF and the very effective cropping which makes a nice slight curved line with the road., if only there was feet in those shoes. sorry 4 |

Frictionby EkenborgComment: Good use of DOF. Although it looks a bit like the pose of the following shoe is kinda artifical just so it can be fully visible beside the front shoe. It would seem more natural if the perspective caused some of it to be obscured behind the front shoe. And I know this may seem like nitpicking (that's what happens with a good idea that's well executed) but maybe there should be some contact with the ground (even the heel of the shoe perhaps) to really carry through the effect of grip and friction. 9 |

GOT AIR?by lentilComment: You've seen it done much better by the original artist. So copying a well trodded path is essentially pointless unless you can do it as well or better. Either that or have a completely fresh take on their theme. The shoe's cropped too much, and not even sharply focused. |

Gone Surfingby cherylogleComment: The horizon seems tilted, and where's the surfer in the background that's mentioned in the title? The division between sand and sea could also be further from the centre to improve composition. Think rule of thirds. I'd also like to see the sandals maybe facing towards the sea and help draw the viewers eyes out there.
