GreatFruitby ChuckieComment: Greetings from the critique club.
Nice composition and great idea!
I certainly see what feel you are going for with this image and i beleive the single most element that's holding it back it the lighting. This image would leap off the screen if you would either increase your exposure time or simply add more light. This would also make the texture of these fruits much more visiable.
Let's say that you didn't have access to lighting equipment at the time nor a tripod increase exposure time, then you could help this photography out by playing around with the levels. This would make the colors more vibrant and pleasing to the eye. Adobe Photoshop (3 and up) has fantastic levels functions (color correction functions) that can allow you to enhance your image greatly and best of all it's totally legal to play around with the levels in the challenges.
A few other things... removing the stickers from the lemons would also add to this image. They are a bit distracting and take away from the overall feel. You could even try arranging all the lemons in the same way...ie all facing north, to give more of a rythmic pattern to the image.
Good luck! |

Moment of Weaknessby Clou9Comment: The focus makes this image difficult to read. It would help to widen your depth of field and make you subjects a little clearer. |

Bad Newsby brianedenComment: If you use the Levels function in photoshop (color correction), you could really help this image along. As it is, it takes a moment for me to register what's taking place on the screen. That levels function would help this image pop off the screen. But then again, the greyness does give this image it's downer feel...eh, nice job (8) |

Chinese Riddles: Do Not Despair!by bioshoreComment: Great colors. The fact that i can't read these riddles puts me in dispair but other than that i don't feel dispair anyware in the image. In fact, i think this put me at ease because the color scheme and the lockers remind me of children, which put me at ease. Nicely processed image but i'm just not feeling the dispair. |

Bill why did you desert me?by PaulkComment: Without the title, i wouldn't get this image. Nonetheless, with the title, this image is very funny. The lighting really brings out the detail and lynch not is nicely lit as well. But i don't think this really fit's the challenge. eh, i like it anyway. (7) |
