The lighting doesn't really bring the subject to life. The pot, too, seems to just have been forced into the shot, likely to imply that the vegetables would soon be prepared; it doesn't really seem to have a place in the picture.

I think breast-milk is a bit of a stretch. The challenge was for "recipe," not "food." Also, the picture feels very "snap-shot," not really exhibiting any artistic value. A little less space at the top of the frame might have helped. A little camera-shake, too, seems evident. Overall, I think you tried something different, but didn't truly suceed in your effort.

Sorry, but I really can't seem to like this picture. The lighting is way off, and it really goes against your food subject; with shots of food, the lighting should make things look apetizing, not bland. Also, the "directly-above-head" composition does little to make things exciting. The room at the top of the frame, too, is a strange choice. Sorry if this is a bit harsh; better luck next time.

A bit too plain for my taste; the picture is just too simple. There's nothing to hold one's interest. It succeeds in its attempt to show a dish, but that's about all it does. A choice other than dead-center composition might have helped make this picture a bit more dramatic.

Very nice. I love your choice of tilting the framing; it makes for a far more interesting, dynamic picture. The colors are vibrant, the focus is sharp; the fork also really adds to the image. Great shot.

I think your choice of focus kind of makes this look more like an advertisement than a "recipe shot." Also, the dough doesn't look terribly appetizing to me (though, I suppose, it's not necessary that it look so).

Wow, I love how this picture looks as though it was taken during the mid-twentieth century. I actually find the frame a bit distracting, perhaps because of your choice to make it broader on the sides than on the top and the bottom. In any case, you've greatly succeeded in capturing a rustic "feel."
