I like it very much with the darker tones ,especially since you've managed to maintain such beautiful light on the kitten's face. My inclination might be to crop a bit more from the left side so that the subject isn't quite so centered. Very adorable image. Looks like s/he's caught in a downpour and is trying to get inside.
