Dancing on the Edgeby WildcardComment: Great shot! She looks so free and elegant. I agree with everyone else about the DOF. What lens was this taken with? Ideally, you'd stand a long way away, use your long lens at 300mm, on aperture priority at the widest aperture available, then maybe use your lowest ISO, and some ND filters to allow the longer shutter speed to keep the blur on the cloth.
Although it's pretty good as it is, and a bit of editing can blur the bg. |

Wait For Meby WildcardComment: Just spotted this image in the reaction club thread. I'm not an official reaction club person, but I thought I'd leave a post anyway. :)
The offset horizon is quite distracting for me, particularly as it's made even more obvious by the background mast. The colours are nice and rich, but the subject seems to lack something in interest. It might have been better with the focus point at the middle or nose of the boat, giving a wider depth of field, and some more in-focus interest. As it is, my eye wants to wander through the photo, and look at something interesting, but it's all out of focus. Perhaps if the main boat was filling more of the frame. Hopefully I've managed to say something constructive.

Waldo1.jpgby eamurdockComment: Hey, nice capture of a paraglider in the evening light. :) Check out my folio for some more paraglider shots! OK, mine are a little more obvious. You image wins for subtlety.

Chlorophyll to Concrete, Glass & Steelby Dr.ConfuserComment: Thanks for the detailed description of your thoughts. I don't really like the image (sorry :) ), but I like reading about how people come up with images, and technical details about the image. It shows you are thinking, involved in the process, self-assessing and learning, and lets others join in that process. I hate opening post-challenge images, and all you get is comments "N/A". Thanks for sharing. :) |

Life Stagesby AliciaComment: nice colours, but there's no clear subject and half the plant is out of focus. Try to unclutter the image a bit. |
