Photographer’s Notes
I turned the corner in downtown Bellevue Washington the other day and was struck by the sight of a half dozen construction cranes, scattered among a half dozen skyscrapers on a site that used to be a park. What a sad transition! I set out today to capture the mixed emotions of sadness and progress but the light wasn’t very good and I was unsatisfied with the results.

As I was looking at one of the buildings under construction, I saw the overlap of natural trees with a manmade tree of scaffolding and got to thinking this might symbolize transition from Chlorophyll to Concrete; hence the title of the photo.

I don’t think this will score very well; it's not that interesting of a subject; maybe 30th - 50th percentile. But maybe it will speak to people on different levels and maybe it will convey some of the emotions I feel looking at this scene.

Thanks for the detailed description of your thoughts. I don't really like the image (sorry :) ), but I like reading about how people come up with images, and technical details about the image. It shows you are thinking, involved in the process, self-assessing and learning, and lets others join in that process. I hate opening post-challenge images, and all you get is comments "N/A". Thanks for sharing. :)
