blueby biggisComment: Seems a bit more like 'huddled masses.' I'm afraid the central grouping doesn't work for me. The greenish or cyan reflections strike me as a little wierd. I know my morning vision is a little blurry, but this photo seems less sharp to me than several of the ones I've recently viewed. |

Thumb Tackby wheeleddComment: Very strong image. I like the simle background, the lighting, the colors, and the fact that the strongest texture in the thumb (or finger) is in focus. I would be a little happier with the image if the focus on the tack were similarly tack sharp. I suppose some of the softness the tack appears to have may be from translucence or reflective surfaces, but its top and left edges do not look sharp. Probably easy to fix using sharpening software. |

Tacks Dayby TommyMoe21Comment: Beautiful choice of colors & lighting angles. Nice rhythm set by tacks. I have the impression that the pink light areas have blown highlights because there seems to be great loss of detail. Similarly, the shadows seem a little strong on the some blue tacks. Some of this effect may have been purposeful, but I'd be happier to see a bit less of it. |

Icy Tacksby alonzo4bComment: An unusual tack. I love the idea. I very much like the choice of colors and the lighting. The positioning of the yellow tack and the protruding point both seem good. And so does the lighting.I don't quite understand what it is, but someting is bothering me about the photo and it has something to do with visual clutter: the bubble like features on the top surface or the lumps on the side, or just the fact that the subject tack is being upstaged by the yellow one. Can't identify the exact cause, just the effect. |

Church of Tacksby ChinabunComment: There is something about the interaction between the clear tacks, the light, and the lens that has rendered a strange purple glow on the left edge of each tack. I imagine that if it were very much more prominent we could accept it as a feature, but in its current configuration it strikes one as a serious lens problem. I like the choice of color palette and materials for the photo, but find the composition a little static. |

$3.97 + Tactsby banmornComment: This photo has such a strong greenish tint that I almost cannot view it. The 'naturalistic' take on tacks is refreshing. I like the depth of field. I find the photo a little cluttered. |

Tacks Shell-terby GatorguyComment: Very funny. Very strong idea.
It should be a quibble, but for some reason it strikes me as a major issue: The sepias and blacks of the shell and background are so strong that they make me want to see colors from the same palette - secondary or tertiary colors all a little warm and unsaturated. Not sure whether clear and/or chrome tacks would work. Or if the choice of background limits the choice down to 'brass tacks.' |

Reinsby GeneralEComment: I like the compositon of the photo. Although some of the blurrines helps the photo, I wish more of it were in focus. Had I not read the thread on tacks yesterday, I'd probably not realize that the reins that control a horse - to which this camera strap alludes - are referred to as tack. And I think collectively all the reins in the world are referred to as 'tack' not 'tacks.' But I'm inclined to give as many points for thinking outside the box and presenting an offbeat image as I'd be to deduct for not meeting the challenge. |

Tacksing My Last Pitiful Dollarby JoelHSmithComment: The compositon is a little static. Some of the tacks look out of focus. And there seems to be a lot of noise in the background. I think if the scene had stronger lighting two of these things could have been improved simultaneously. |
