Very creative. It creeps me out a bit, but, it's very nicely lit and sharp. Good job.

Haha, I get the puns! Nice colors. A little more depth of focus to see the tacks in the background would've been nice, too.

Dof works really well here-great idea...would have liked a natural background to increase the need for shelter, and lose the studio feel. Nice shot.

poor dead turtle. Where are the tacks? ;) Interesting image. Focus is good. The white tack stands out - maybe a different color would lessen the focus on that particular tack. 7 for now, may bump later.

Very funny. Very strong idea.

It should be a quibble, but for some reason it strikes me as a major issue: The sepias and blacks of the shell and background are so strong that they make me want to see colors from the same palette - secondary or tertiary colors all a little warm and unsaturated. Not sure whether clear and/or chrome tacks would work. Or if the choice of background limits the choice down to 'brass tacks.'

Made me laugh. Interesting choice for an item of shelter. Have you read "Life of Pi"? He used turtle shells for shelter from the sun.
