Regalby sherComment: Very nice colours. The dark background is ideal for making the subject stand out. You've got a dilemma, though - concentrate on the butterfly or include more of the flower. I think I'd have cropped a bit more of the flower out. The picture's a little unbalanced - everything's over on the left. I think a rotation about 15 degrees counter-clockwise would sort this out. |

The Spider and the Beeby ibequeenComment: Looks more like a wasp. Whatever, this is perhaps the first time I've felt sorry for one of the little stingers! Good interest shot. Ideally, would have a tad more sharpness and be a bit more brightly lit. |

Spider in your faceby andygoughComment: Creepy. Good close-up detail but couls use a bit more light. I like the effect created by the 'forest' of legs. Not sure about the red background, though. |

Creepy Crawlerby timj351Comment: Interesting, almost abstract shot. Bit different from the usual 'documentary' shots. Like the 'greenness' of it. Well done. |

eye of the dragonby cjadams1Comment: Potentially nice shot. Looks like it was spoiled by camera shake. If it's too dull to get a high shutter speed, I find using a flash helps. |

Damselflyby JaxsonComment: Pretty. The damsel's head is a little lost in the dark part of the background, though. Pretty good DOF and nice focus. Wings are in an attractive position. Overall, good catch just slightly let down by the viewpoint. |

American Hover Flyby ladpupmoeComment: Hoverlfies are one of my favourite subjects - you've done a good jobe here. Nicely exposed and sharp. Perhaps crop a bit tighter so we can see more of the fly? |

Grasshopper on Thistleby kirbicComment: Great colours. Nice and sharp too. Not a lot wrong with this one. The two bright flower heads to the left of the 'hoppe's head are a distraction - clone them out for the print. Good one. |

Room for Oneby dsidwellComment: Nice clear shot with good sharpness where it's sharp, but the lack of sharpness on the antennae of the uppermost wasp spoils it somewhat. Lovely clear colours and exposure. Which camera is this? |

High Country Mothby Firstrich1Comment: Pretty. Nicely blurred background isolates the subject well. A bit more sharpness wouldn't hurt, though, and there's quite a lot of fringing. |
