Further comment on your photo as requested. Apologies for not making it earlier, was pressed for time during voting on this challenge. :)
I like the subject matter of this photo - the composition with the half orange against the glass is very pleasing. I also like the moistness on the fruit and the wetness of the glass.
I think it's cropped a little tight all around, not much but just a little. I find that the background doesn't give enough contrast against the main colour of the fruit/ juice to make the overall image zing out a little more.

Boscs and Gourd

This is just beautiful and the colour and light and textures remind of me of an old painting. I just love the textures of the pear and gourd. I can't decide about the black area to top left, it feels a little unbalanced yet when I cover it with my hand the photo does lose something. That black seems to tie in with the shadows between the objects.
Anyway, it's just lovely.
