The lowered eyelids and the expression make this quite an emotive shot, and, to some extent, I think the white space does add to that. I don't like the white blowouts on the skin too much but I do like the BW treatment.

I really like the way the walker is positioned and his shadow before him on the pavement. I don't know that I am keen on the shadows behind him - I think the paving would work better as negative space without that added detail - if it were all uniform. I am also wondering about whether it would be more interesting to see him walking into the space than out of, though this choice does raise question about what's infront of him.

I think the composition works well for this shot but the lighting means I find it hard to pull out the detail in the wonderful sculpture. I am not sure the choice of background adds anything, I personally don't like it's texture against that of the sculpture. Just my personal tastes though.
