Done in the Gardenby OneSweetSinComment: Nice subject material. I can see how the vertical lines are true to the edge of the frame on the right but this means they are quite a lot out on the left. I wonder if it would be better to rotate a touch so that the central area of the fence and the spade handles are perfectly vertical. Great feeling of a day's work in the garden... not that you'd catch me doing it! :) |

Chlorophyllby mannenComment: Summer days.... it's hot here and this image really makes me _feel_ the heat of sitting out in a pleasant green garden or park. |

Please---Not In My Garden!!!by GallatinComment: Although in one sense I like the way you've caught two butterflies together, in another sense, the recognisable shape of a butterfly wing has been lost and I'm not sure that works for me... I do like the DOF choice. |

Forlorn in the gardenby ColeyComment: I played with this a little in photoshop and this is how I like it best... I rotated it by 2.16 degrees counter clockwise. I then cropped it in from the left to excluse all the foreground flowers at the front. (Not because I don't like those but because I wasn't keen on the centred composition). I also cropped up from the bottom. Anyway, I like the photo a lot and hope you wont take offence at my messing around with ideas for it. The copy I took has now been deleted from my hard drive completely.

Yesterday's Merchandise, Today's Trashby gandersComment: I would like to add now, that the alien in question IS my one! So my comment below made Pete laugh rather hard. He wondered that I didn't recognise the bin either!
Well I wasn't home that day so didn't know he'd entered and it just didn't occur to me.
Good news is my little alien is safe and sound by my desk and is NOT trash, and actually Pete loves him too.

A Little Dance for the Lordby SonifoComment: Oooh this is lovely!
The contrast between the silhouette and the striking, cloud-filtered sunlight is beautiful!
Position of the little girl within the frame doesn't feel quite balanced and the position of the knee/ leg at the lower right looks a little strange - might be better straight down like the other leg.
Poles at lower left are a minor distraction, not a real problem. |
