what can I say? Baby, I'm a star (for a week)
I'm very honoured of this red ribbon, the same colour of my shoes ;)
Thank you, DPC's boys & girls!

Good idea, to put the other shoe in front of the subject to use the cord holes.

Like it a lot. Bit concerned that the colour tools and unsharp mask may have been used a little on the background image. Apologies if I'm wrong.

Enjoy your blue ribbon. This is an excellent study. I like the textures in the shoe in the back and the affective use of the eye hole to focus on the logo. Nice work! 10 -danny

I love this! I love how you can see the "star" in convers all star through the shoelace hole. wonderful focusing. great color.

Chuck Taylors STILL rule!

Actually, I find the "star" in the eyelet distracting - too bad, as the bright red of the shoe plus and the shoelaces are great and would have been enough for me.

WOW! This is one of the cleverest shots I've seen for ages - talk about really looking for a new angle on a straight-forward object! I love the use of one shoe as frame to the other.. it really makes the DOF choice zing out!

Good idea as far as the composition goes - I think it misses just a little, but it's a challenging idea, so I'll give you an extra point for "level of difficulty"! What "bothers" me about it is that there's so much of the foreground (blurred) sneaker, that my eyes have trouble settling on the small star in the eyelet. Maybe this was the best it could be, but I wish you could have gotten the eyelet bigger, getting more of the star emblem, and less of the close canvas (and even better if you could get a little more of the far shoe showing on the right). Maybe that's all impossible - but it would have really been cool if you had gotten it. Everything else is good - ligting, color, contrast, focus, etc.

I love how you got the 'star' right through the eye-hole... thats what makes this shot of converse the best ;)

I'm confused what's in front because of the shadow and shallow depth of field. Is it the other shoe?

Nice shot. Love the red on white background. Although parts of the shoelaces seem to blend in the background. Very creative & original.
