Be Mineby whiteroomComment: Nice portrait! The grittiness, exaggerated colour and contrast work well. The eye contact is fantastic. So too is the tight crop (by crop I mean either when taken or afterwards). I'm not sure what the heart is - card? chocolates? - but it doesn't matter hugely. |

She Loves Me, She Loves Me Notby L1Comment: Sweet! Isn't he young to be mulling over love already or am I just old and forgetting how young one can succumb? :0) I like the plain backdrop and the lighting too though it seems a touch strong. The flowers and their vibrant colours are wonderful. I find the flash of denim distracting and wonder if this would have been stronger had he been shot in plainer underpants or shorts? Off-centred composition with the legs giving depth, works very well. |

Innocenceby BrinComment: Sweet! I like hte way the child is standing on the edge of the frame - the land is unimportant to the shot and thus excluded - very brave. I like the heart shaped cloud - I might have played around with it a touch to exaggerate the heart shape further but it's certainly discernable. Fun and different! |

some Hearts aren't meant to be Brokenby seebrownComment: Is this a heart of drugs instead of a line? I'm a bit confused as I don't quite get the concept. On the photo front I like the texture and the black and white presentation. |

Happy Valentineby marvinComment: Not entirely sure what I'm looking at but it doesn't matter - it's an abstract object somewhat like a glass lamp with a glittery red heart inside. I like the composition and repeating circles a lot and the colour palette too. Nice one! |

Love Hurtsby acmulcahyComment: Clever idea! Postprocessing is a little clumsy - I can see hard lines at the edges where you've selectively removed/ whitened the background - around the heart and it's shadow. However, that's something you can definitely redo and tidy up and the idea itself works well. |

As Cold As Iceby CEJComment: Cool! Love the colours and textures and the rotated main subject. |

The Book of Loveby glodaComment: This is a lovely idea and well executed too. I really like your purple toning and the strong vignette too. The strong light and shadows work well - I particularly like how deep the shadow inside the folded pages are - it makes the heart shape really stand out. It's a shame that the page forming the left side of the heart doesn't seem to have the same densely packed text on it as the other tree pages shown - perhaps it's a chapter heading or something? But it's not a big deal. I am curious about what the book is... |

Lurve by PedroComment: A clever idea indeed but the heart-shaped smoke doesn't work well for me - because it's quite a dense area of smoke it's more obvious that the edges have been erased away in post-processing. I have no problem with using post-processing by the way, but in this case it doesn't quite create a believable result. My feeling is that if there were just a few strong swirls of smoke, a touch more spread out, and then the edges erased into a heart shape, it might look more natural. Anyway, I still like this shot a lot - the pose and lighting are good and the idea is a fun one! |
