me, againby dragonladyComment: Well, Roman ... I like that hat! But what is also very appealing is the edgy and unsettling feel you've achieved with the unusual composition. It has a tension, maybe a deliberate lack of spatial resolution, that's uncomfortable and will not let the viewer think "hmmm, nice pic" and pass on without further thought. There's a photograph around here somewhere called "Inner Demons" that has the very same unusual and compelling quality. |

En vert et roseby MambeComment: I won't pretend that i don't know who this is, because I still remember the stunning self-portrait at the window. But you have done it again; I'm not usually crazy for the desat look, but in this case i feel you are making a deliberate statement (which makes me a little sad for some reason). And like the window portrait, the lighting is understated and classically beautiful. 8. |

Moi-memeby overcloverComment: What I like best about this (and I hope this won't seem too presumptuous, especially from a crusty old dude) is that you have made yourself look very interesting. I mean more than just pleasant to look at, but interesting to know. Intelligent. Not self-absorbed. Stuff like that. It's a technically excellent photograph as well. Very fine portrait. 8. |

imperfectionsby moniepennyComment: This is a very beautiful portrait. It has a charm and elegance that is missing from many of the stridently glamorous shots. The lighting, both of the subject and the background, is terrific and, for what it may be worth (or not), it makes a very appealing statement about the character of the subject. I think it has the qualities that will make it an enduring photograph. If I were you I'd be very proud of this searching and satisfying work. 8. |

Bad hair dayby Arti-ElviComment: Everyone in the world recognises this by now. No matter; it's as interesting and original as all the other ones. I love your photography but I'm not always crazy for your processing. But that could be my problem & not yours. 6. |

watershedby undieyatchComment: It's a very good portrait with an especially interesting composition & crop. The interpretation implicit in the title makes it even more interesting. I'd have probably tried for a little more contrast (it seems heavily biased toward the midtones) but I'd have probably screwed it up. 6. |

Ace Flymanby ace flymanComment: You are tying a completed fly, Ace. Nevertheless, it's a very fine portrait, and a fabulous shirt. 6. |

30 Minutes (Smoking & Looking Out For Bears)by shanelighterComment: I like this. It has damn all to do with a self portrait, at least in the literal sense, but I don't much care about that. And really, the only person who CAN decide if it's a self-portrait or not is the only one who can't vote on it. So I'll vote for you: 8. |
