Of all the "DNMC" conceptual shots, I liked this one the best. It really made me think, and I spent a bit of time with it. I'm not suprised that it did poorly; just because it's pretty far away from the box (like in a different room), but I didn't expect it to get the brown. I gave it a 6. Thanks for sharing it; and don't let that score curb your enthusiasm.

i love the idea of this image, but i think you could have pulled it off better, definitely.

Wow, last place. I knew I was going down, but I thought there would have at least been a couple of cell phone in the mirror pics I beat out. By far my most commented on photo.

I lied. I gave you a 9. This is my highest score to a brown ribbon ever. You rock!

I'm not sure exactly what the orange flare is on the left side of the picture but it definitely distracts from the rest of the image...

odd - this is the sorta thing that won't score well but has artistic value. interesting approach. I like the title too.

I think I understand, but unfortunately the execution isn't that great in my opinion.

You're a big orange blue in real life too?
05/20/2006 10:05:23 PM
30 minutes of your life. you were overgenerous and end up giving us just a ball of light. but what can we really know of a person anyway? at least here we sense that we've shared something with you, even if ignorantly. A profound statement on the limitations of the observer. 8.

Abstracts don't seem to fit in with a portrait challenge. I have seen abstracts made up of objects that the photographer feels describe him, but turning yourself into a red blob doesn't make it for me, sorry.

very interesting.. 6 for originality

Interesting shot. I like the glow of the city. But that about does it for me on this one. The blur of orange on the left is just a distraction.

i'm not sure what the image is trying to say, sorry
05/19/2006 10:26:04 AM
browner??
05/19/2006 09:52:30 AM
r u a red blob?
05/19/2006 09:46:00 AM
Ay ay, sorry, not doing a thing for me this shot, there is nothing aesthetically pleasing about this photo and the blob/blur on the left is just really grabbing all my attention. Sorry, just not my cup of tea, if you are wondering why I am telling you this it´s because I gave you a low score and I am explaining why.
05/19/2006 04:21:22 AM
Sorry I don't get it!!!!
05/19/2006 03:47:08 AM
if you turn on the light, I might see your face :-)

I like this. It has damn all to do with a self portrait, at least in the literal sense, but I don't much care about that. And really, the only person who CAN decide if it's a self-portrait or not is the only one who can't vote on it. So I'll vote for you: 8.

reference to me? LOL... That could be "my cape" behind you.
05/19/2006 12:01:29 AM
Wow... you look... um... blurry.
