Portrait of a Snowy Egret by vawendyComment: Congrats Wendy, nice portrait! Has a studio feel, with the background looking like a wall, complete with soft shadows. How did you do that? |

I don't mind simplicity )). I couldn't think of a better, more natural way of expressing the concept of change. Besides, this is MY grapevine, I'm always excited to see it spring to life so powerfully every Spring :). It's amazing how quickly its buds turn into long, strong vines, it already looks nothing like this shot. |

Old flame by LevTComment: Lydia, thank you for the compliment on my lighting skills! I will let you in on a secret, my daughter is a theatrical lighting designer, I must have acquired my skills from her through some kind of reverse genetics :).
mariuca yes, that bush on the way to my front door bugged me as well, but I could not find a better spot for this photo without making a much greater effort of shooting "on location". Of course, an urban environment (New York brownstone, preferably :)) would have been a lot better, but you play with what you got...
bsluijk yes indeed it would've been a much nicer explanation, although a little hard to believe in, since 1 and 10 are pretty far away on the range of scores to accidentally click on one instead of another :) Message edited by author 2021-04-12 15:29:41. |
