Ridgesby millerComment: As far as meeting the challenge, your example of texture is good. The technique is good, while I am not a fan of the "band of focus". I don't like the "wallpaper" effect of shooting the item to take up the entire field, and the photo doesn't really capture my interest. I look for more creativity. |

Take the Rough with the Smoothby sulamkComment: Good composition, good example of texture, but the focus and apparent adjustments [or lack of], especially on the right side don't work well. In fact it's too distracting and makes me want to move on. A good photo will capture my interest and will have "sticking" or "gazing" power. |

Shedding Unicornby eddyComment: Excellent shot! Good example of texture with creativity in choosing the subject. |

wascal wabbitby cq107Comment: Fairly well focused, and shows texture, but not really interesting. This is another "wallpaper" shot, which could have been better by shooting a closeup of the rabbit's head. The only thing this photo does is to show the texture - it doesn't demonstrate any other photography skills. |

rebozoby karolComment: This photo does show texture. However, the focus is blurry, and it is pretty much a wallpaper shot - fills the entire field with the item. A picture of fabric doesn't capture my interest. It is colorful, but I don't think that this much color over the entire field works for me. I'm also looking for a bit more creativity. |

body of leafby pricciComment: Like the display of texture. Background color and general setting seems out of place. Good use of DOF technique and nice shadows on the leaf itself. Doesn't hold my interest. |

Velvet Antlersby bobgaitherComment: I like wildlife pics, and velvet is a cool texture, but this shot has many elements that I would not have incorporated. This would have been better singling out the buck on the left and zooming in on his head. Ideally, [and I am a purist] I would have tried to get a shot of him without the highway or post in the shot. |

Not as fluffy as he seems! by PointComment: This seems to have a "soft" focus, but I LOVE the composition and his colors! While feathers don't come to mind first when I hear "texture" this is a really great shot. |

Floraby NaginaComment: I have the same problem trying to capture 3D and staying in focus on everything. |

Flying...by lennierComment: This is good....although slightly grainy in the blue and white. I think the effect would still have been there if you would have cropped the support on the ball just below the middle finger. |
